Guisados of Beverly Hills

Guisados is a food truck in Beverly Hills, California, serving an authentic menu of homestyle Mexican braises on fresh handmade corn tortillas. The kitchen builds its tacos around slow-simmered guisados, including Bistek en Salsa Roja and Steak Picado made with flank steak, Mole Poblano and Tinga de Pollo made with chicken, and Chicharron, Cochinita Pibil, Chuleta en Chile Verde and Chorizo made with pork. Tacos default to a medium level of spice and can be served without chile on request, except for the Chiles Toreados. Guisados was born in Boyle Heights in December 2010, set up to serve homestyle braises on handmade corn tortillas made to order from fresh ground masa. The menu is deliberately simple, built around the weekday preparations of a traditional Mexican home: simply braised meats, usually served with rice, beans and warm tortillas. Over the past decade the business has expanded from its first location to sites in Echo Park, Downtown Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Burbank, Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Hermosa Beach, Long Beach and Venice. Along the way it has grown to more than 150 employees and cultivated a community of artists through its Featured Artist Program.

The Beverly Hills truck sits on South Linden Drive in a parking lot in the back alley south of Wilshire Boulevard, between Linden and McCarthy. Wilshire Boulevard runs about 54 metres away, and Santa Monica Boulevard is roughly 0.1 miles from the truck. Good Shepherd Catholic School is also about 0.1 miles away.

Guisados has served Los Angeles since 2010, and its Beverly Hills truck brings that same braise-focused taco menu to a parking lot just off Wilshire Boulevard.
