The business operates under the name Shoal, delivering urgent conservation for the world’s most threatened freshwater species. Freshwater fish and amphibians are the most threatened vertebrate groups. The organization focuses on ambitious, collaborative conservation to bring these species back from the brink. Notable initiatives include a blueprint for conservation action for 1,000 fishes by 2035, an action plan for the conservation of Mexico’s Goodeid fishes, and a roadmap for freshwater fish conservation in Southeast Asia. The group also conducts global workshops to advance freshwater fish ex situ conservation.
