Franklin Primary Health Center

Franklin Primary Health Center is a medical clinic in Mobile, Alabama, serving individuals and families across the Davis Avenue community and surrounding areas. Founded in 1975 as a nonprofit, federally qualified health center, it provides comprehensive, patient-centered care regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. The clinic offers a wide range of services including family medicine, adult medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dentistry, optometry, behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, HIV early intervention, immunizations, nutrition counseling, pharmacy services, and inpatient care. It also operates a school-based health center, mobile healthcare units, and programs for the homeless and medication assistance. With a long-standing commitment to preventive care and health education, the center serves six Alabama counties, Mobile, Baldwin, Choctaw, Escambia, Monroe, and Conecuh, through a network of 20 locations.

The center was established by Dr. Marilyn Aiello, Mr. James Buskey, and community advocates who saw a critical need for accessible healthcare in underserved areas. Under the leadership of CEO Charles White, MPH, who has served since 1982, Franklin Primary Health Center has grown into one of the largest community health centers in Alabama. Mr. White, a nationally recognized advocate for health equity, has been inducted into the National Association of Community Health Centers’ CEO Hall of Fame and honored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The center operates a Family Medicine Residency Program based at its Medical Mall location in downtown Mobile, training future physicians in community-based care.

Franklin Primary Health Center is located on New Shiloh Avenue in building 306, suite 1, within the Medical Mall complex in Mobile. The facility is part of a larger network of healthcare providers and services in the city’s central medical district.
