The organization was founded by Dorothy Stanke, Debra Hoppe, and Cynthia Eggleston, who opened the doors on August 1, 1989, in the basement of a home on South Rochester Street. The group outgrew that location and moved temporarily to Washington Avenue School, then to 110 Main on the village square, and subsequently to the former library building at 219 Grand Avenue. The current facility is located at 325 Eagle Lake Avenue. The pantry is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 3pm, and on the second Saturday of each month from 9am to noon. Donations and volunteer help are accepted during office hours. The organization has received the 13th Annual County Executive Award for Small Non-Profit of the Year in 2008 and the 22nd Annual Women of Distinction Award in 2006.
