Midtown Vineyard Church

Midtown Vineyard Church is a Vineyard church in Myrtle Beach, SC. It operates as a community of believers focused on learning together what it means to follow Jesus, offering a casual and welcoming environment for worship and spiritual growth. The congregation is part of the Vineyard Movement, which was founded by John Wimber. Services are available both in person and through a Sunday morning live stream, which includes live translation and captions to support accessibility. The church also maintains a podcast for those who prefer audio content.

The church was founded in 1997 as Seacoast Vineyard Church by Pastors Tim and Karen Holt, a young family born and raised in the Grand Strand with a heart to reach the people of Myrtle Beach for Christ. In January 2021, Tim and Karen retired and passed the mantle to Tommy Moore, another Myrtle Beach native with a passion to bring the community to know Jesus. To avoid name confusion, the church rebranded to Midtown Vineyard Church in late 2022. The leadership team includes Jess Sagund as Director of Worship, Rachael Harrell as Communications Director, Amy Elkins as Children's Pastor, Jay Elkins as Executive Pastor, Christy Morris as Outreach Pastor, Nick Fuss as Director of Student Ministries, and Melissa Burgess as Sound and Tech Director. The team is led with the backing of elders Claire Adare, Paul Alverson, and Bruce Fowler, who provide input and wisdom in decision-making. The church emphasizes creating fun, safe, and open environments where honesty and vulnerability are central to reaching people for the Kingdom.

Ministries include financial, prayer, and spiritual support for missionaries following the Great Commission locally and globally. Partners include Joe and Carrie Dezwaan of Youth With A Mission, Amanda Edgington of Grand Strand YoungLife Capernaum, Roy and Pandora King of Five Capitals, and Carissa Morris, a YWAM Discipleship and Outreach Training Leader in Cambodia. The church aims to develop intimate communities deeply in love with one another, dig deeply into Scripture, worship God with authentic reverence, and live holy lives while challenging each other to do the work.

The location sits on 27th Ave N, just off North Kings Highway and within a short walk of Washington Park and Cameron Park. It is near Chabad Academy of Myrtle Beach and North Ocean Boulevard, placing it in a central part of the Myrtle Beach area.

Midtown Vineyard Church serves Myrtle Beach as a local expression of the Vineyard Movement, combining deep Scripture study with practical outreach to the community.
