Help 4 Kids

Help 4 Kids is a non-profit organization in Myrtle Beach, SC. This 100% volunteer-run organization serves the most vulnerable children throughout Horry County by providing essential food, clothing, and school supplies. Through programs such as Backpack Buddies, the organization works to ensure children do not go to school hungry or without proper necessities.

The organization was established over 30 years ago by founder Barbara Mains and two friends following the devastation of Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Driven by the mission to make a difference one child at a time, the group addresses local poverty by providing food sacks to underprivileged children to take home each Friday during the school year. The organization relies entirely on donations to supply items such as canned pasta, rice, cereal, baby food, and hygiene products, as well as new clothing including coats, hats, and winter essentials. Help 4 Kids reaches approximately 3,000 children weekly, many of whom rely on these services as their primary source of food outside of school.
