Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre

The company is composed of select students from Coastal Dance Centre’s Conservatory Program, offering them advanced ballet training and performance opportunities in classical, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and modern dance. Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre operates as an extension of Coastal Dance Centre, where its members receive rigorous training under Liza Mata, a certified teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance and a Practical Teaching Supervisor. She has led students to success in national and international competitions, including the Youth America Grand Prix and the World Ballet Competition, earning awards and scholarships. Under her leadership, the organization was honored with the Impeccable Customer Experience (ICE) Award as Best Non-Profit by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce in 2008. The company emphasizes not only technical excellence but also the life skills gained through dance, such as perseverance, cooperation, and time management. Many former company members have gone on to pursue professional dance careers or secure college scholarships.
