Nestled on 2 wooded acres in Mt Pleasant, the Center for Jewish Life is a recently completed, state-of-the-art facility featuring a modern Kosher kitchen, classrooms, a social hall, gardens, a coffee bar lounge, and a library. Designed as a “third place” between home and work, the center serves as a spiritual and cultural hub where community members come together to celebrate Jewish life, share traditions, and support one another. The vision for the center emerged from years of planning, community input, and generous support, reflecting a deep commitment to sustaining Jewish heritage in the Lowcountry.
The organization is led by Rabbi Yossi Refson and Rebbetzin Sarah Refson, who guide its mission with dedication and warmth. Since opening in the Fall of 2016, the Center has become a cornerstone of Jewish life in the region, offering a welcoming space for religious observance, education, and fellowship. Its programs emphasize continuity, inclusivity, and the joy of communal living.
