Shorindokai Karate: Family Martial Arts Center is a martial arts school in Greenville, SC. The center offers karate, Judo, and Total Fighting Concepts Jujitsu programs, focusing on practical self-defense rather than competition. The school was reopened in 2014 by Sensei Joshua W. Owens, who returned from service in the U.S. Army to continue the legacy of his father, Gary Owens. Gary founded the Shorindokai style, and Josh helped write the first curriculum in 2002 before teaching alongside his father until 2004. Josh began learning martial arts as a young child, studying Shorin-ryu Karate, Judo, and Jujitsu with his father, and started teaching at age 13. The instructors at the center hold over 50 years of combined experience and are the only school in upstate SC teaching a consistent Judo program. Belts are earned through hard work, grit, determination, and skill, ensuring students receive quality self-defense instruction without a false sense of security.

Located at 5000 Old Buncombe Rd, Suite 8 & 9, the school sits about a quarter of a mile from Duncan Chapel Elementary School and the Duncan Chapel Fire Department. It is also approximately a quarter of a mile from Poinsett Highway and Holmes Bible College, placing it in a accessible area near the neighborhood of The Vinings at Duncan Chapel.

Class hours run from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. The school is closed on Sundays.
