PurrPoseful Art Studio

PurrPoseful Art Studio is an art studio in Greenville, SC, located at 65 Millside Cir. The studio offers art classes for children between the ages of 7 and 13 who have a passion for art and a love for animals. It combines Humane Education, which fosters compassion, responsibility, and kindness for all animals, with practical art instruction. Students create two-dimensional works of art featuring their favorite animals, including their own fur siblings through printmaking. The studio provides a variety of mediums, including printmaking, watercolor, mixed media, and acrylic. Weekday classes meet for six consecutive weeknights from 4:30 to 6:00 pm, totaling nine hours of instruction. The studio also offers private art lessons, off-site birthday parties, custom events, and summer camps for ages 7 to 13. Summer camp options allow students to choose the date, time, and medium, with sessions available in June and July.

Founded in 2019, PurrPoseful Art Studio was created to give children a purpose and a platform to create one-of-a-kind art, showcase their work, and use it to positively impact the community by raising awareness and money for homeless animals. The founder and owner, Erin Ainsley, was born and raised in Upstate New York and holds degrees in Communications and Rhetoric, Fine Art, and Art Education. She taught art for 18 years in Loudoun County, Virginia, before leaving the classroom in September 2021 to focus on growing the studio. The studio is also co-founded by two rescued cats, Finnegan and Sophie, both of whom were rescued from Loudoun County Animal Services. Finnegan is an 18-pound orange tabby main coon mix, while Sophie is a 6-pound brown and black tabby. Students have the option to display and sell their artwork at the Artist Guild Gallery, where the proceeds are donated to a local animal rescue organization.
