Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority

Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority is a public transit provider in Florence, SC. Founded in 1974 as the first regional transportation authority in SC, it serves the six counties of the Pee Dee region: Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion, and Marlboro. The organization provides fixed-route bus service, ADA complimentary paratransit for riders with disabilities, deviated fixed-route paratransit, commuter bus service, and demand-response door-to-door trips. It also offers individualized travel training for new riders. With 44 active routes and over 1,000 daily passengers, the authority has operated for more than 51 years, initially serving participants in federal job training programs before expanding to the general public.

The agency operates a mobile app available on both the App Store and Google Play, which allows riders to purchase tickets, track bus arrivals in real time, and view route schedules. Fixed-route services run on predetermined schedules with designated stops, while paratransit and demand-response services provide flexible, call-ahead options for those who cannot use standard routes.
