Rhode Island Health Center Association

Rhode Island Health Center Association is an association/organization in Providence, RI. Serving as the voice of community-based primary care health programs, the association focuses on supporting Rhode Island's community health centers. The organization works to ensure that every resident has access to high-quality, affordable, and equitable healthcare.

Since 1972, the association has played a vital role in educating federal, state, and local policymakers regarding the healthcare continuum and the importance of community health centers. RIHCA supports its ten organizational members, which include eight Federally Qualified Health Centers, Block Island Health Services, and The Providence Center. The association also manages the state’s Navigator Program under contract with Health Source Rhode Island and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. Through the Statewide Assister Network Services, the organization facilitates access to health insurance enrollment assistance via Navigators and Certified Application Counselors located at various community agencies, hospitals, and clinics.

The association is located on Promenade Street, near Gantry Gardens and the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. It is also situated a short distance from the Providence Fire Department and the Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

The Rhode Island Health Center Association is recognized for its long and accomplished history, having supported the development and expansion of the community health center movement for over 50 years. The organization is known for its commitment to providing leadership and sustaining the infrastructure necessary for patient-centered, integrated primary care throughout the state.

As a long-standing pillar of the healthcare community, the Rhode Island Health Center Association continues to strengthen primary care access for all residents of Providence and the surrounding areas.
