Chespenn Health Services

Chespenn Health Services is a doctor's office and community health center in Chester, PA. It provides primary medical care for children and adults, including skilled prenatal care and OB/GYN services, along with annual gynecological exams and cancer screenings, pregnancy testing, and voluntary family planning. Pediatric primary care covers routine physicals, well child check-ups, sick visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, immunizations, and vision and hearing screening. Dental care is offered at the Centers for Family Health at Eastside, and the practice also provides integrated behavioral health for its patients, social services, and community health education. The practice traces its history to 1973, when it was founded as the Children's Clinic of Chester and Vicinity in a double wide trailer on Tilghman Street with three employees. It became a Community Health Center in 1982, adding adult medical and family dental care to pediatrics, and changed its name to ChesPenn Health Services. A Center for Family Health opened in Coatesville in 2005, moving to the Brandywine Health Center in 2008, and the Center for Family Health at Upper Darby opened in 2009 in collaboration with the Crozer Keystone Family Residency Program. Behavioral health services launched for current patients in Coatesville in 2013 and at the Delaware County locations in 2016. In 2014 the practice took over Crozer Chester Medical Center's Women's Health Program and expanded prenatal services in Coatesville from a half day to five days a week, and merged with Chester County Community Dental to integrate medical and dental care in Coatesville. Newly minted pediatrician Dr. Rekha Yagnik, a nurse, and a receptionist saw eleven children on the clinic's first day.

The office sits on East 9th Street, a short distance from Avenue of the States, and about a tenth of a mile from the Chester Police Department and the Alfred O. Deshong Park Museum. Deshong Park is roughly two tenths of a mile away.

The practice's medical, dental, and behavioral health staff work alongside social service professionals and health educators, and its employees live its mission of compassion, dedication, and service. ChesPenn is marking 50 years of caring for the communities it serves.
