Treehill Day School

Treehill Day School is a preschool in Troutdale, Oregon. It offers preschool, pre-kindergarten, and before and after school care for children, with hours Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 6:15pm. The school is play-based, with a structured curriculum in the morning from 8:30am to 12:00pm that includes teacher-led sensory play, music and dance, circle time, letters, numbers and shapes, social and emotional learning, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and indoor gym play. Preschool and pre-kindergarten classes rest from 12:00pm to 2:30pm, and afternoons are less structured with free play and teacher-led activities. Children do not need to be potty trained to attend. Owner Michelle began her childcare career right out of high school running after-school programs, worked with all ages at a nearby daycare center, and completed a master's degree in special education and elementary education from Portland State University in 2009. She started at Treehill in 2011 as assistant director and became owner in 2016. Assistant Director Shay has worked in childcare since 2011 and at Treehill since 2019, focusing on children's social and emotional growth. Assistant Director Bree has worked in childcare since 2018, joined Treehill in 2020 as lead after-school teacher, and stepped into her current role in 2025. Missy has been at Treehill since September 2006 and serves as after-school teacher, van driver, and kitchen staff. The teaching team also includes pre-k, preschool, and kindergarten/first grade teachers who have worked in childcare since 2016, 2018, and 2023, several of whom are pursuing degrees in early childhood education.

The school sits on NE Treehill Dr, a short distance from Northeast 238th Drive and about 0.3 miles from Donald L. Robertson City Park. Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast Glisan Street are both roughly 0.3 to 0.4 miles away, Northeast 242nd Drive is about 0.4 miles away, and Arata Creek School is about half a mile from the campus.
