Xavier High School

Xavier High School is a high school in New York, NY. This private, Catholic, Jesuit boys' school provides an academically rigorous, college preparatory education to intelligent and motivated young men from Manhattan and beyond. The school's curriculum is rooted in the Jesuit tradition, emphasizing the principle of cura personalis, or care for the whole person.

Founded in 1847, Xavier has a long history of educating students through a focus on academic, physical, mental, and moral excellence. The school offers 123 courses, including 18 AP classes, and teaches various world languages such as Arabic, French, Italian, Latin, and Spanish. Beyond the classroom, the school features 20 varsity sports, 65 clubs and activities, and a military department with a lasting heritage. The Meditz Library holds 11,000 volumes to support student inquiry and curiosity.

The school is located on W 16th St in the Union Square area. It is situated near the Yeshiva University Museum and is a short walk from The New School and the Student Study Center.
