Bayard Rustin Educational Campus

Bayard Rustin Educational Campus is a high school in New York, NY. The campus now houses six small schools that share a cafeteria, a library, and sports teams. Each school has its own philosophy and targets a different kind of student, but all take somewhat offbeat approaches to education. The building is a bit run down but has some nice touches, such as stained glass windows in the entrance, and it does not have metal detectors. Many students are allowed outside the building for lunch.

One of the schools in the building, Quest to Learn, opened in 2009 and serves children in grades 6 to 12. Nicknamed a school for digital kids, Quest to Learn incorporates into its academic lessons the same principles that make video games fun. For transcripts or proof of graduation from Bayard Rustin High School, former students are directed to call Hudson High School of Learning Technologies at 212-488-3330.

The campus sits on W 18th St, right next to Quest to Learn and the New York City Lab Middle School for Collaborative Studies, about a tenth of a mile from the Joyce Theatre, the Callen Lorde Community Health Center, and the Atlantic Theater, and just steps from the In Memory of Frank Liu memorial.
