Founded in the early 1900s by descendants of early Mays Landing settlers, Balić Winery traces its roots to Savo Balić, a vine-grower from the Adriatic Sea who acquired the 57-acre vineyard in 1966 to bring European winemaking traditions to America. His ancestral knowledge laid the foundation for a legacy of craftsmanship. In 1993, his nephew Bojan Boskovic, born in Belgrade and raised in Montenegro with deep family ties to wine production, joined the winery. Bojan, a trained wine technologist with international experience and a background in export and import, has worked side-by-side with Savo, blending European expertise with American innovation to maintain the authenticity and quality of the winery’s offerings.
