Guardian Jiu-Jitsu

Guardian Jiu-Jitsu is a Martial Arts School in Holland, MI. Founded by Kevin Irwin and Andy Hagans in 2019, the academy serves adult students of all ages and abilities, as well as children ages 6 and up. It is the only gym in the greater Holland area offering a specific mix of programs: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for kids and adults, kickboxing, and women's martial arts. The facility is a 3,700 square foot space located in Holland Town Center.

The coaching team, led by Kevin Irwin, collectively holds more than 60 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing. The Jiu-Jitsu program is affiliated with Misho Ceko from Chicago MMA. The gym focuses on building a safe and positive training environment to help students succeed both on the mat and in other areas of life. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes emphasize grappling and submission holds, teaching smaller individuals how to defend against larger opponents. The kids program, for ages 6 to 15, helps children develop balance, coordination, motor skills, confidence, and discipline. The kickboxing program is open to teens and adults ages 16 and up, stressing fundamentals as a complement to Jiu-Jitsu training. The women's martial arts class is designed to help participants build fitness and confidence. The facility features premium 2-inch Zebra-brand MMA mats.

The school sits on James Street, just behind Nelis' Dutch Village, a theme park located about 0.1 miles away. It is also a short distance from GRCC Lakeshore Campus, a college situated about 0.2 miles from the gym. The Shops at Westshore, a shopping mall, is located about 0.3 miles away, as is X Golf, a sports center. The Rink, another sports center, is about 0.4 miles from the facility, and East Lakewood Boulevard runs about 0.5 miles nearby.
