Originally located at 820 Main Street, it evolved from a Model Cities project focused on coordinating care for underserved families. The clinic became a training site for family medicine residents in 1974 through a partnership with the University of Massachusetts Medical School, supporting generations of healthcare providers. Today, it continues to support academic programs in family medicine, nursing, dentistry, and behavioral health, fostering clinical training and community engagement.
