The brewery is the first Orthodox Christian monastic brewery in the world, situated within the Shrine of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Patron of Sailors, Brewers, and Repentant Thieves. It crafts a range of handcrafted beers including a Colonial Pale Ale, a White Ale, an Imperial IPA, and an Imperial Stout, each made with devotion and a focus on quality. The brewery’s mission is rooted in sustainable philanthropy, with a majority of profits supporting the charitable works of St. Paul’s Foundation. Though currently operating virtually while renovations continue at the shrine, it offers growler deliveries and invites visitors to experience its unique blend of faith, craft, and community.

The brewery was founded by a monk from Mount Athos, inspired by visits to Trappist monastic breweries in Europe during layovers in Frankfurt. While the Trappists are Roman Catholic, the founder draws a spiritual lineage through the Benedictine tradition, linking centuries of monastic practice. The brewery emphasizes prayer, work, and relationship in its brewing process, reflecting a deep commitment to both craftsmanship and service.
