Uncommon Threads

Uncommon Threads is a Thrift Store in Lawrence, MA. The nonprofit provides low‑income women with quality clothing and a range of empowerment services, including Self‑esteem Styling (both in‑person and through a “Threads to Go” option), Workforce Styling, a Women’s Empowerment Center, and Bundle Up & Emergency Clothing. Clients are referred by local social‑services agencies and include domestic‑violence survivors, cancer patients, individuals with disabilities and female veterans. Since its launch in 2016, the organization has served thousands of women across Lawrence and surrounding areas, helping them improve their appearance, confidence and life opportunities.
