Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute is a hospital in Leawood, KS. It remains a physician-owned acute care hospital licensed in the state of Kansas, a model that allows staff physicians to have greater control over the aspects of orthopedic care they provide. The facility is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care and is a member of Physician Hospitals of America and Physician Hospitals of Kansas. To support recovery, the hospital staffs one registered nurse for every two inpatients and conducts all inpatient physical and occupational therapy sessions one-on-one between the patient and the therapist.
