The Winnetka Chapel has a rich history dating back to May 18, 1904, when Pastor Benjamin Severance Winchester proposed building a new church structure on land purchased for cash by Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith. The Norman-style stone chapel was completed in February 1906 and served as the Winnetka Congregational Church until 1936. Since then, it has been known as the Children's Chapel and is now available for private or public events, offering a unique ambiance with its Tiffany-esque stained-glass windows, hardwood floors, wrought-iron lanterns, and exceptional acoustics.
