Wolf Mountain Vineyards

Wolf Mountain Vineyards is a winery in Winder, Georgia, located on Wolf Mountain Trail. Operated by the Boegner family, the estate grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah, Mourvedre, Tannat, and Touriga Nacional on the Dahlonega Plateau at 1,800-foot elevations, blending these European varietals into French-style Reserve Estate Red Wines. The winery, café, restaurant, and wedding venue serve visitors seeking tastings, tours, vineyard weddings, Sunday brunch, café lunches, and gourmet dinners, with a Wine Club offering exclusive selections and private tastings.

The vineyard began in 1999 when the family prepared their 30-acre estate for grape growing and hand-planted their vines. By 2001, the gravity-flow winery was complete, and the first vintage was produced that fall. After the inaugural harvest in 2002, the property opened in spring 2003 and sold out in just eight months. Annual production has since grown to over 5,000 cases of limited-production, handcrafted Georgia wine. Founder and Proprietor E. Karl Boegner, now Winemaker Emeritus, has dedicated decades to the craft, while his wife of 50 years, Linda, coordinates weddings. Son Brannon manages the vineyard and serves as Winemaker, daughter Lindsey leads restaurant and event operations as Hospitality Manager, and her husband Stephen Smith oversees marketing, the Wine Club, and the Tasting Room.

The estate sits roughly 60 miles from downtown Atlanta in the North Georgia Mountains. As the first Georgia winery to win Best-in-Class and Double Gold Medals at the San Francisco Chronicle and Los Angeles International Wine Competitions, the property has earned over 200 medals, and its hillside vineyards and fieldstone winery draw comparisons to Napa.
