Metro Atlanta Dance

Metro Atlanta Dance is a dance studio in Roswell, GA, located at 1530 Old Alabama Rd STE 200. The studio offers classes for youth and adults, from age 2 through adult, in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, musical theater, heels, and stretch and conditioning. Youth classes are grouped by grade, including PreK Prep for ages 2 1/2 to 5, Elementary Combo for grades K-2 and 3rd-5th, and Middle School Combo for grades 6th-8th. Adult classes, for ages 14 and up, include beginning and intermediate/advanced ballet, open hip hop, open tap, intermediate/advanced contemporary, intermediate/advanced jazz, and an intro/beginning roulette that rotates styles. Summer classes run June 1 through July 25, registration is always open, and drop-ins are welcome. A free trial class is available. The studio holds a rating of 5.00.

Metro Atlanta Dance, also known as MAD, was founded in 2024 by Dr. Janet Bentley Ewers and many dedicated individuals. It is a 501c3 organization directed by Kia J. Street. The studio states a commitment to making dance inclusive, accessible, and affordable regardless of gender, race, religion, or financial status, and its non-discrimination policy admits students of any race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national and ethnic origin. A code of conduct asks dancers to attend every class, arrive punctually for warm-up, respect instructors and fellow students, and focus on the teacher's instructions.

Kia J. Street serves as Studio Director. She began dancing at age three at Norma's Academy of Dance, continued at Dance with Donna Webb, attended the Fine Arts Magnet at Mount Zion High School, and graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2015. She performed at VSU dance concerts, the American College Dance Association, and with the marching band as a Blazette, and has choreographed for high school dance lines, the Emerging Artist Showcase at VSU, Modco Dance Company, and Dancefx adult company members. She has performed with Sideways Contemporary Dance Company and Modco Dance Company, and currently performs with Fuerta Dance Company. Jennifer Cooper serves as Assistant Studio Director.
