The company began with a single 65lbs. shipment of coffee and a popcorn popper, and has since grown to multiple shop locations across the Southeast, importing well over 40,000lbs. of coffee a year alongside cacao and tea imports. The business operates on a model of Transparent Trade, paying farmers directly at rates above Fair Trade standards, bypassing brokers and middlemen. The team makes regular trips to Ecuador to meet with farmers face-to-face, and the company sources from a network of growers across regions like Loja, Zaruma, and Puyango. Z Beans has expanded primarily into hospital locations, serving freshly roasted coffee and handcrafted drinks to thousands of customers each day. The company also offers a cold brew concentrate steeped for 12 hours with freshly roasted Ecuadorian coffee, available in 32oz. bottles that can make over ten 12oz. cups.

The shop sits on Hospital Drive, about a tenth of a mile from Piedmont Macon Medical Center and a short walk from Coliseum Drive. It is roughly two-tenths of a mile from Emery Highway and 2nd Street, and about three-tenths of a mile from the Macon Coliseum.
