The operation is rooted in a revival of Western Georgia’s historic viticulture. The region once supported 20,000 acres of vineyards before prohibition, and Little Vine Vineyards marks the first commercial planting of wine grapes in West Central Georgia since 1907, as well as the first winery built here in more than a century. Soil preparation began in 2010, followed by the planting of 700 Norton and 700 LeNoir vines in March 2011. A second planting in 2012 added 900 Blanc du Bois, 350 Villard Blanc and 55 Herbemont vines. The first harvest arrived in 2013, yielding roughly 9.5 tons of grapes, and production grew to 20 tons in 2014 across the various varieties. Community members, church life‑group participants and Vineyard and Winery Association members joined the planting events, underscoring the collaborative spirit behind the vineyard. Today the winery offers a selection of dry, off‑dry and sweet wines, each reflecting the distinct character of the grapes cultivated on its modest acreage.
