Add Drug

Add Drug is a pharmacy in Athens, GA, serving the Five Points neighborhood and the surrounding Athens community. The store handles prescription refills, new patient transfers, home delivery, immunizations, long term care, medication therapy management, multi-dose pill packaging, medication synchronization, and compounding, producing unique dosage forms of medications tailored to individual patients. Additional offerings include a knee walker rental and an online refill request system. Store hours run Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the store is closed on Sunday, with an early closure at 1:00 p.m. on UGA home football game days.

The shop was founded in 1961 by Wayne Edwards and Sam Horton as Athens Discount Drug in the Five Points neighborhood. Over more than fifty years it grew under Jim and Lorene Horton into a community gathering spot known for an old-fashioned lunch counter, a variety of gifts, USPS postal service, and prescription care. Ownership passed to Kevin Florence in 2012, a University of Georgia College of Pharmacy graduate from a family of pharmacists. The staff continues to develop new services while retaining the store's classic character, and the lunch counter is a local fixture for pimento cheese burgers and chocolate milkshakes alongside regular prescription service.
