Alta Schoolhouse

Alta Schoolhouse was founded in 2022 by Madison and Thomas Brawner, who moved from California to Lakeland with the goal of creating a preschool rooted in family and community. Madison, the owner and executive director, holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and has over a decade of experience in preschool education, including roles as assistant director and school director. She brings expertise from working in Reggio Emilia and Montessori settings. Thomas, the owner and CFO, holds a degree in Business Marketing and shares a vision for a service-based business that positively impacts the local community. The school’s mission centers on igniting a lifelong love of learning by empowering each child to explore, question, and grow.

The school operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is situated on Carleton St in Lakeland. It is positioned within the heart of the Lakeland community, designed to serve families locally with a focus on building strong, supportive relationships between educators, children, and parents. The environment is intentionally created to be welcoming and inclusive, where every child is seen, heard, and encouraged to follow their unique path.
