Iron Warriors Training Center

Iron Warriors Training Center is a martial arts school in Hollywood, FL. The facility offers classes in two traditional martial arts systems: Shuri Ryu Karatedo and Shinto Yoshin Kai Jiu Jitsu. It also provides training for those wishing to compete in or practice mixed martial arts. All students are exposed to and expected to master the essential rudiments of wrestling, boxing, kickboxing, and reality-based self-defense. Additional programs include cardio kickboxing, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Hot Yoga. Classes are available for adults and children of all ages, with a focus on developing ethical character and combat-ready skills.

The instruction is led by a team of long-time, committed martial artists with experience in practicing, competing, and teaching multiple disciplines. Chief Instructor Hanshi Rey Perez holds a 7th degree in Shuri Ryu Karate and a 9th degree in Shinto Yoshin Kai Jiu-Jitsu. He serves as a Defense Tactics Instructor for the FBI, municipal law enforcement, and military personnel. Perez is also the Chief Instructor for American Shooto for mixed martial arts fighters. His accolades include induction into the AJKA Hall of Fame, a 1991 Light Heavyweight Fighting World Championship, and being named Instructor of the Year at the 2008 Martial Arts International Symposium. Shihan John Varnell has trained in the martial arts for more than 42 years, holding a 6th Dan in Shuri-Ryu Karate and a 4th Dan in Shintoyoshin-Kai Jiu-Jitsu. Renshi Andrew Cove has been practicing martial arts for over 25 years. Many students have backgrounds in law enforcement or the military, and others have competed successfully in BJJ, submission wrestling, kickboxing, karate, and MMA, often medaling or winning outright.

The center is located at 1939 Harrison St in downtown Hollywood. It sits on Harrison Street, just a short walk from Kindred Hospital South Florida - Hollywood. The location is approximately a tenth of a mile from Hollywood Boulevard and Anniversary Park, and about two-tenths of a mile from First United Methodist Christian Day School.
