Woodlawn Duckpin Bowling is a bowling alley in West Haven, CT. The center provides duckpin bowling services, including glow-in-the-dark birthday parties and open bowling hours. The facility holds a 4.60 rating.
The bowling center originally opened on Platt Avenue in the spring of 1954 as one of the first duckpin lanes in America, featuring 12 Sherman Automatic Pinsetter bowling machines and wood lanes. Under the ownership of Bob Nugent, who purchased the lanes in May 2004, the facility underwent an extensive renovation to upgrade the facilities, making the center handicap accessible. This remodeling included rebuilding the snack bar and updating the flooring, lighting, paint, and furniture to provide a new look while maintaining the original old-school feel of the 1954 equipment. The center has also been featured in media works such as "Out of the Blue" by Alexa DiCambio and "Pretty Eyes" by Alex Goot.
Woodlawn Duckpin Bowling offers a unique blend of historic charm and modernized amenities for the West Haven community.
