Valley Animal Haven is an animal shelter in Lemoore, California. The organization focuses on saving homeless and helpless animals through a range of programs, including community outreach, education, and foster initiatives. These programs are designed to reduce kennel stress, increase the visibility of animals awaiting adoption, and provide education on the humane care of animals. The shelter also partners with the community to reduce the length of stay for animals housed at its facility.
The shelter's approach is built on the belief that community education is essential to reducing shelter intake, and that the community itself is the organization's greatest strength. Foster programs help animals develop socialization and life skills needed for adoption, with fosters working closely with the organization to prepare animals for their new homes. Valley Animal Haven also offers a Kennel Sponsorship Program, where individuals, businesses, or organizations can commit to a 12-month donation to directly support the shelter's efforts. In return, sponsors have an all-weather sign affixed to a kennel or cat condo displaying their information. The shelter also lists current sponsors, including the Milhon Family, The Maguire Family, Reyna's Restaurant, and Long Dog Inc.
Valley Animal Haven is located at 990 East D Street, about a tenth of a mile from East D Street and roughly a third of a mile from Houston Avenue and Kings Christian Elementary School. It sits about eight-tenths of a mile from the Lemoore Canal, about a mile from Lemoore High School, and approximately 1.1 miles from Heritage Park.
