Trinity River Vineyards

Trinity River Vineyards is a winery in Arcata, CA. Located in the Willow Creek AVA, the winery produces a variety of hand-crafted, unmanipulated wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate vineyard, Gardner Ranch, features the oldest producing vines in Humboldt County and is situated on an uplifted river bed near the Trinity River. Their current production also includes several specialty labels such as Kingfisher Sauvignon Blanc, Osprey Chardonnay, Merganser Rosé of Sangiovese, Coho Red Wine, Hummingbird Pinot Noir, Cedar Waxwing Pinot/Grigio, and Black Bear Cuvée.

The winery focuses on sustainable agriculture and organic farming, using zero synthetic chemicals or inputs to grow their grapes. They source fruit from their estate as well as neighbors in Humboldt and Mendocino Counties. Their winemaking approach follows a European style, producing non-GMO and vegan wines that are not fined or treated with manipulated organisms. While they use a minimal amount of sulfites to ensure quality, the primary goal is to create clean wines that reflect the specific terroir of the steep and mountainous Willow Creek AVA. Their award-winning history includes a 2018 Riesling that earned Best of Class, Double Gold, and a 95-point rating at the 2020 West Coast Wine Competition.
