AVCP Regional Housing Authority

AVCP Regional Housing Authority is an assisted living provider in Bethel, Alaska. Serving 48 communities across the Bethel and Kusilvak Census Areas, the organization provides housing, community development, education, social services, and advocacy. Programs are available to any eligible American Indian or Alaska Native who is a member of a federally recognized tribe.

Since its incorporation in 1974, the organization has focused on addressing the housing needs of the AVCP region. The authority has constructed over 1,700 single-family units throughout the area, along with rental properties in 19 communities. Their work includes homeownership opportunities, rental vouchers, housing management, and crime prevention. A notable aspect of their operations is the force account program, which utilizes trained crews from the region to manage the construction of new houses and apartments, as well as the modernization, renovation, and weatherization of existing housing stock. As a Tribally Designated Housing Entity, they serve 53 tribes under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act.
